3rd Annual Beat the Doc Fun Run and Walk Canine Canter

Make a stand against canine obesity with man’s best friend.

 

DATES and TIMES

Early Registration:  Ends March 10th 12:00am. $30.50 or runners only and $35:50 for runners and their dogs.

Procrastinator’s Registration:  Ends Saturday March 24th 1 hour prior to the race

             $35.50 runners only and $40.00 runners with their dogs

Packet Pick-Up 08:30-09:30 Saturday March 24th at the covered shelter East of the water slide at Eagle Island Park.

Race Time and Date:  10:00am March 24th The race will be joint this year. All contestants (runners, walkers and runners with dogs will start and finish together).

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course:   5K Loop course with off road trails and gravel road course. This is not a road race, please be prepared for muddy trails, unsure footing and possible standing water.

Start and Finish: Start - volley ball courts east of the water slide. Finish - grassy area east of the water slide.

Elevation:No elevation gain or loss throughout this course.

Weather:Average Temp 46 degrees F. High 82. Low 18 degrees F.

Facilities:Restroom facilities will be available at the start and finish.

AWARDS AND SHIRTS

Shirts:    All contestants will be provided with a shirt with registration All K-9 Contestants will get a bandanna with registration.

Awards:  The first three contestants in the following categories: Overall, Age groups for both male and female contestants for <15 years and >15 years. All contestants who “beat the doc”, overall K-9 contestants,   < 20# K-9s and >20# contestants.

AFTER RACE PARTY

                 A short awards ceremony for contestants will take place at 10:45. We will also perform a Losing it with Northwest contestants awards (The first three K-9 contestant biggest losers) Contact Northwest Animal Hospital for details regarding this weight loss program.

CHARITIES

                 Proceeds will go to fund the Second  Chance Fund to help pay veterinary services for owners who struggle funding their pet’s medical expenses.
